Celebrate Diversity Month
April is Celebrate Diversity Month, a time to recognize and appreciate diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures. This month celebrates all diversity: race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, faith, age, ability, and more. Started by two U.S. diversity consulting firms in 2004, Celebrate Diversity Month celebrates multiculturalism and aims to deepen understanding across cultures to ensure a better world.
Autism Acceptance Month
Autism Acceptance month, previously Autism Awareness Month was first held in April 1970 by the National Autism Society with the goal of creating awareness and educating the public on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The name changed in 2021 due to an increasing need for acceptance of individuals living with ASD, over awareness, with the goal of encouraging people to accept and include those with autism in their daily activities and community.
World Autism Awareness Day
World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated on April 2 each year to raise awareness and promote acceptance of those with autism. The United Nations established World Autism Awareness Day, first celebrated in 2008, to organize efforts around research, diagnosis, and treatment.
